MW + AURÉLIEN DELAHAIES
AN ARTISTIC COLLABORATION, OF PAINTING ON CLOTHES, WITH AURÉLIEN DELAHAIES.
Mansour and Martin got in touch with the artist Aurélien Delahaies. This painter, stylist, florist and textile designer shares a common passion for architecture and brutalism. The fruit of this collaboration is a set of pieces totally hand painted, directly on the canvas of the garment.
"We gave Aurélien the architectural plan that we had imagined and designed and gave him the freedom to reinterpret it in his own way to create the motif of the painting. We then worked together on the colours and materials" explain Mansour and Martin.
The final motif, made up of varied geometric shapes, is reminiscent of the work of the architect Aldo Rossi and street art. Each piece was made of pattern canvas, cut out and then hand painted by Aurélien before final assembly. A meticulous work, with a paint brush, which required more than 45 hours of work to paint the poncho, 25 hours for the shirt. "We thought these pieces together as exceptional elements for the collection. Each final piece is a work of art in its entirety," they add.
